The struggle between influence and control—it sounds like the plot from an epic novel published by our Trade division. Instead, it describes our approach toward sustainable production. Because we do not own our entire production stream, we can only affect so much change. Some things we can control, and others, we can only influence.
In each area where we have control, we make direct improvements. When not in control, we look to influence. Whether it is our books, CDs or i>clickers, we anticipate working with our supply chain partners to make sustainable improvements.
As the plot thickens, we’ll engage in conversations with partners and industry groups we can influence. In this not-so-epic struggle, we seek partners who are willing to work toward sustainable improvements. Until this occurs, we continue to refine the processes we expect control over to get to the greatest level of sustainable production.
