We’ve been a little slow on our blog posts lately because we are currently in the process of calculating Macmillan Publishers and Macmillan Learning’s (previously known as Macmillan Higher Education and Macmillan New Ventures) primary carbon emissions for 37 sites across the United States, Germany, and United Kingdom for the years 2010 through 2014. This includes everything from the emissions created from our business travel to the electricity that mills use to make paper for our books.
By calculating these emissions, we will have a better picture of the progress we’ve made over the past five years. It will also show us the areas where we can make future improvements to meet our goal of reducing our carbon emissions intensity by 65% of our 2009 baseline by 2019.
Stay tuned for the results at the end of the year!
